Due to a combination of factors it will not always be possible to see the northern lights. These factors include weather conditions and solar activity which are not always to predictable in Iceland. Therefore the price of your booking includes the possibility to attend a second trip if the tour was unsuccessful. It is advisable to always have more than 1 day for your northern lights-tour available.
Itinerary :
During the online booking process we will ask you for the place you would like to be picked up from by the driver. Most often this is near a hotel or guesthouse where you are staying in the centre of Reykjavik or at the nearest bus stop in your area where the bus can come. When all our guests are in the bus we will be on our way for the Northern Lights tour.

Due to the urban lighting that “pollutes” the sky over the capital of Iceland it is very difficult to watch or photograph the Polar Aurora in Reykjavik. Therefore we will take our clients out of town to “hunt” the Northern Lights.
During the journey you will be assisted by experienced guides who will tell you more about this amazing phenomena and they will find the perfect places for you to observe the Northern Lights.
After arriving at the location that is considered that day to be the best spot for an aurora-experience we will get off the bus to watch the sky for the northern lights. Depending on the expected aurora-activity it can happen you have to wait some time but usually there is plenty of time to gaze at the sky and take many pictures. If you do not know how to take a picture of the Northern Lights, our guide will help you set the camera. Or you will be able to take a beautiful picture of yourself with the Northern Lights in the background.
Important information about the trip:
1. Please remember to make a note of the departure time of the bus. Pickup of passengers may take up to 30 minutes from the time of the ticket. Please wait and be ready in your hotel / guesthouse or at the nearest bus stop. The guests are picked-up by a few minibuses which brings you to the meeting point for the actual bus tour where you will change buses.
2. Level of difficulty: very easy. Sometimes there is a short walk to the observation site.
